Rose Fence is proud to have taken part in ABC's Extereme Makeover Home Edition. We have donated our time and resources on several occasions to deserving families here on Long Island. We believe it is important to take part in projects such as these and we applaud ABC for it's efforts.

October 2003 World Fence News page 12 <snip> We also caught up with Scott Rose of Rose Fence in Freeport, New York, a South Shore Long Island community famous for boating. At the time we spoke to Scott, he was 10 weeks into another strong season. We asked Scott about his growth and he told us he has grown from 21 crews to 35 crews and has opened another location since the last time we visited. He said that his “success starts with his help.” He keeps his people employed year round, and feels that is very important to do so. As a result, his employees bring relatives (brothers, cousins and even fathers) to work for Rose Fence, and that is how he has been able to staff the expanding number of three-man crews. Scott further pointed out that 90 percent of his people are “good workers and the other 10 percent have to be dealt with as each situation develops.” In response to being asked about his business mix, Scott told us that, for the most part, he does 90 percent residential and 10 percent commercial. He further noted that he does 90 percent of his business in vinyl and aluminum. He told us that Rose Fence had bought a building a little over a year ago and it is devoted to fabricating all of Rose’s vinyl products. We asked Scott what changes were implemented in 2003 and he told us that he opened another location (for a total of three); bought new machinery (a bender for vinyl); and bought new trucks and some new equipment. We also asked Scott about his relationship with his suppliers, and he told us that he feels he enjoys an excellent relationship with his suppliers because he always pays his bills in a timely fashion, and that, as a result, he also gets excellent service. <snip> |
