Many PVC fences use a 2x6 or 2x8 rail for the bottom of their fence.This type of rail needs to have the top removed to allow the uprights to fit into the rail. This reduces the strength of the rail and requires a metal support installed to try to prevent sagging

The "patented" rails used by Rose are specially engineered to support the fence without metal inserts. The molded edge design is not only more attractive, but adds greatly to the strength of the rail.
